But when Dino-Grobecomes much larger than intended, Cole goes so far as to put Dino-Gro on a liquid-free diet and an exercise regimen, which don’t seem to make a difference! As Dino-Gro becomes so big that he can’t fit in the house, Cole learns that growing up and gettingbigger can have advantages too, even if you’re not a dinosaur.

For fans of Tiny T. Rex and We Don’t Eat Our Classmates, this sweet and hilarious read-aloud is fun for kids to learn the importance of growing up big and strong.

Review:

I enjoyed the illustrations and the overall story. I felt that the story is fairly accurate. I also think the story is reflective of how a parent sees their child. As the child grows, there will be less dependence and harder to control. As it should be. The end cracked me up the most. I feel that the humor is one that children and adults would appreciate.

Where the Road Leads Us by Robin Reul

I was fortunate to receive the e-Arc from @sourcebooksfire as being a tour stop on @mtmctours. I want to share a little about this incredibly novel.

Book Info:

Synopsis

Jack is on the verge for leaving for college, but before he does, he wants to track down his estranged brother, Alex and find some closure in the wake of their father’s death. Meanwhile, Hallie has just found out some upsetting news about a friend in Oregon, and she has a small window to go see him before it’s too late.

Jack and Hallie are practically strangers. They shared a class together years ago and haven’t seen each other since, though they have more in common than they’d ever imagine. And when fate puts them into the same rideshare to the bus terminal, it kicks off an unconventional and hysterical adventure that may lead them to their own true selves…and maybe to each other.

Review

As a reader, I found the story to be fascinating. The dynamic between Jack and Hallie was incredible to watch. They are both dealing with loss and this journey helped them in a way. Grief is powerful. Losing his dead definitely impacted Jack in a way that he didn’t know how to deal with. His purpose in seeing his brother is the driving force for him to move his journey forward. That relationship is estranged, and the author deals with that beautifully. As for Hallie, this trip is of importance due to the fragility of life. I found the book to be worthy of not only investing my time, but also investing in the characters. I love road trips and this road trip story was definitely what I needed to read.

synopsis

TRIGGER/CONTENT WARNING(S): Brief Domestic Violence, Guns/Shooting, Verbal Abuse

The Sun Is Also a Star meets Outlander in this vivid, utterly romantic debut novel about two teens who relive their tragic love story over and over until they uncover what they must do to change their fate.

Tamar is a musician, a warrior, a survivor. Fayard? He’s a pioneer, a hustler, a hopeless romantic.

Together, Tamar and Fayard have lived a thousand lives, seen the world build itself up from nothing only to tear itself down again in civil war. They’ve even watched humanity take to the stars. But in each life one thing remains the same: their love and their fight to be together. One love story after another. Their only concern is they never get to see how their story ends. Until now.

When they finally discover what it will take to break the cycle, will they be able to make the sacrifice?

review

Today, I’m excited to share this book, 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦 which is beautifully written by @srmilesauthor! Thank you to @simonteen for the gifted copy and @turnthepagetours for having me as part of the 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦 Book Tour!

As a reader, I couldn’t help getting lost between these pages. My heart ached every time they reappeared in time falling in love with each every time yet their relationship was doomed. Each era they visited in presented its own challenges. I was struck by the abuse from one’s own parent that really hurt (trigger warning).

Each iteration of the characters was from a fresh sense and it told the reader how the relationship worked or didn’t. Whether as a slave or soldier, one suffering from Covid-19 or memory loss, these characters Tamar and Fanyard endured challenges. The book was a solid read for me. I enjoyed the fantasy aspects and the prospect of redoing a relationship gone bad.

I can’t wait to read what is next from Ms. Miles.
